Time Strategies

Image
A bullet journal from  Pinterest Hiiii. In this post, I will be going through time managment and strategies on beating procrastination. I have read four articles that interested me the most and decided to write a little bit about each of them! The Psychology of Checklists I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love checklists. Every day I come back from college, I like to take my trusty notepad and just quickly write down the work I have been giving during that day. I also note the date when it's due so I don't leave it sitting for too long. After that's done, I usually work from my schedule and get things done in the order that I have planned out, unless they are in due earlier than my scheduled time slot... Then I use my "emergency project" timeslot to get it out of the way. The reason why we like checklists is dopamine. When we tick the little box on the list, we consider it a success, and then our body releases dopamine which, essentially

Technology

"Cell phones, mobile e-mail, and all the other cool and slick gadgets can cause massive losses in our creative output and overall productivity." Source:  Pinterest  In this post, I will be discussing the technology aspect of the module. While I am really looking forward to using Unity3D, Canva and image editing, I am slowly getting tired of the everyday blogging and it's just the start of the year. It feels more like a chore than learning... I have previous experience with Canva and Photoshop, but nothing major, but I am surely excited about trying out Unity3D, as it seems like a nice challenge.

Assigments... Gotta do them all!

I have officially ran out of images for this week's work... So have a cute cat illustration. Source:  Pinterest Out of all the assignments that we will be going through in this semester, I am looking forward to learning Unity3D. I think it is going to be a fun and beneficial experience, especially that I was wondering what goes into a good game over the summer holidays. I'm also interested in the all the projects and group projects we are meant to do. But, I am not sure how I feel about all the writing on the blog. It feels a tiny bit too much and it surely takes more than the expected time... Maybe it just takes time to get used to the system that is completely different to all the other modules. When it comes to the Extra Credit tasks, I will probably do a good few, depending on the amount of time I will have left between sleeping, college, and projects.

Growth Mindset

Quote by Jack London. Source:  DeviantArt A Growth Mindset - it almost sounds like something for a different world. Perhaps a world where the effort put into the work is more important than the final results. But this is not a world we live in, and I don't think it will ever be. Most colleges don't care about the process behind the result, and no job will pay you for putting in the effort but not getting the result "yet". I was raised up as a "you must success" child - failing meant failure, it wasn't part of a progress or a way to a success. It was a failure. It was a tough time, but I think tough times shape people in one way or another. A strict mindset didn't hurt me academically. In fact, I simply studied harder and learned more because I wanted to succeed and I wanted to have the knowledge. I never looked for people weaker than me or try to run away from studying, instead, I tried harder. It wasn't always about the score though, at le

"Buckle your seatbelts, because I am going to teach you a thing that I only learned myself two hours ago!" Image from  Tumblr For the first lecture, our topic was introduction to the course and a quick task with traffic lights. While the topic didn't seem prticulary difficult, a lot of people in the class didn't understand what was asked of us, so we very quickly lost all of the interest, resulting in us never getting to the end of the exercise. Shame, as the part three and four were to do with Adobe Animate which I was looking forward to use. The idea was good though, because it was trying to teach us to break things into smaller bits and work with sequences. It also showed us that we have problems explaining things in simple English. The delivery was okay, though I think it should have been more explained, because a lot of people were lost and confused. I enjoyed working in group to discuss the exercise, because some people had pretty good ideas, even thou

Introduction - Hey! I don't bite.

Taken from  DeviantArt Hello!  My name is Adriana, though it is too long and I usually go by Ada. I am 22 years old, studying Creative Digital Media. Previously I had studied two years of Architecture and Interior Design in Blackrock, so if you ever hear me talking about architecture and furniture - now you know why. While I have finished the two years with total of 4 distinctions and few merits, it wasn't exactly what I wanted to do in life, but nonetheless it was a fun experience, as we got to design various of spaces - rooms, houses, garages, shops and so on. Apart from the boring course work, the biggest adventure was the travelling to Blackrock. I had to take two trains, and sometimes a bus to get to college, which usually meant waking up at 6am. I am not a morning person, so it was the biggest pain in the world at the time... but there was something soothing in taking the train. Maybe it was the journey, maybe people, or temporary calmness? I don't really know. Movin

Favourite Game: Final Fantasy XIV

Image
"And thus did grey mists give way to azure skies, man and dragon rise above, voices joined in song but beneath shrouded boughs beyond the scope of light shadow stirs" Final Fantasy XIV - Taken by me, 2016. I started playing FFXIV back in 2015 and at first, it seemed like the most confusing game in the world. Thousands of players, npcs, shops, items, tiny inventory and so, so much to see. And then there was the storyline that felt like reading a 900-pages book. But with each one-sided dialogue, the game drew me in more. Soon enough, I found that FFXIV isn't only a game for players who want to fight monsters. It is so much more. At a certain level, a whole range of gathering and crafting classes open up - and you can pick and master all of them! It took hours of gathering and crafting, but it was also the most relaxing thing after a whole day at an architecture and interior design course in Blackrock. I am not going to lie, there were days where
